1. I chose this photo because of how depressing it is and how it makes you feel also I chose it because of how much the "blind" sign stands out and tells you what it is you're looking at in the photo.
2. In the photograph the women is blind and might not have known she was being photographed. The photographer wanted to capture people as who they really are and not as anything else. He used a false camera to be in one direction but shoot in a different one. Taking photos of people without them knowing helped with social awareness and helped introduce and new kind of photography, street photography.

5. The photographer's name is Paul Strand and was born on October 16 in 1890 in New York City, New York and died on March 31 in 1976 in Orgeval, Yvelines, France. He did not go to a college or photography school.
