Sports Portfolio

1. Alyssa Schukar
2. The general focus of this portfolio is a story
3. A few problems were that most of the photos were taken a certain distance, you don't get much of the feeling from the photos and they don't show much of a connection, and not enough strong singles.
4. They liked one of the backgrounds on one of the photos and liked another one of the photos of a girl.
5. My impression of the photographer is that she just takes photos and many of the photos is plain and has no emotion added to the photos but I do like some of the ideas that she has for her photos.

2. The general focus of this portfolio is sports and a story.
3. A few problems were that many of the photos don't tell a strong story and they are just photographs some of the photos were not framed very well and a lot of the lighting in the photographs were off.
4. They liked some of the ideas that the photographer had and they liked some of the different lens and how close the photographer got in the photos.
5. My impression of the photographer is that he doesn't how to put feeling in his photos and his subject was mainly kids but I liked how he tried to get close to the subject and how his distance changed.

1. Josh Birnbaum
2. The general focus of this portfolio is photojournalism
3. A few problems of this portfolio were some of the idea and the reasoning behind many of the photographs.
4. They liked how he get in a close to the action that was happening in the photos and they liked a lot of the different lighting and angles.
5. My impression of the photographer is that they like to think out of the box when they take the photos so its shows more unique and different ideas in photography but I do like that there were many subjects in every single photo.

2. The general focus of this portfolio is a story.
3. A few problems of this portfolio is that some of the photos had problems with mergers and some of the coloring in the photos was to unrealistic and looked to overly photo shopped and the distance of the photographer and the subject was a problem.
4. They liked some of the different lighting that the photographer got and some of the different frames in the portfolio.
5. My impression of the photographer is that they want their photos to look amazing and great but try to hard to make it look good and ends up looking not so good but I do like the different ideas and angles that the photographer used.

Portfolio Winner:
1. Some of the strengths that the photographer has were the different frames the emotions that were easily seen in the photos and the use of creativity that was shown in the photos.
2. I think some of the different strengths in the photo was how each photo was different from the other and didn't all look the same or alike. Some weaknesses that I saw was some of the action in the photos and it was to much and it was hard to see what was really happening in the photo.

Contest recap:
The judges go through the portfolios again and look back at some of the portfolios that they liked and the different strengths that each of the photos in the portfolio and the differences in the different strengths of the portfolios that they liked.

Part 2- Individual Images
1. One image that I agree with the judges on is an image of a tennis player. The judges like how much emotion is in the image and almost how powerful the image is along with the clear idea of what is happening in the image. I also like how simple the photo is but the different lighting in the photo.
2. One photo that I do not agree with the judges on is images of greyhound dog racing. They are good and people can easily see what is happening in the photo. I don't like how the photo almost feels blank and just looks like a photo with nothing behind it.

      How long have you had this car/ or this type/brand of car?
      Do you wish you had something other than what you have?
4. Certain details to include would be to keep it simple but make sure to explain the story and make it easy to read and understand.

landscapes

1. You need to find visually compelling locations, then you need to figure out the right time of the day and the right season to visit them. You should also look at pictures of the place online with google maps.
2. Photographer's Ephemeris.
3. The foreground and the background become compressed and appear as if they are close together.
4. ND grad filter to capture the detail from the sky and landscape.
5. You will need suitable clothing to protect from the rain or wind, a waterproof plastic bag for your camera, cleaning cloths or a microfiber towel.
6. Pre-scouting helps with your shoot because you get to explore the area and see what you think is the best possible location and you'll have access to all possible viewpoints.
7. The main subject is more important because your main subject helps bring the whole composition together.
8. First, decide which part fo the scene is essential to the composition. Then use the main subject and start to include other elements, and keeping to make sure all the elements of the scene fit together.
9. Because of distinct weather and lighting conditions that make us think black and white.
10. To learn more about the lighting and weather patterns in that location to get a different look at the landscape.

Merger photo

1. I think the spacing of the person and keeping the camera at the same level when taking all the photos.

2. Maybe in front of a wall in the courtyard or out near the portables.

3. I think something creative would be to use different poses instead of having the same stance or pose to add more interest to the photo.

4. I think that wearing something that stands out against the background you are going to use so you are easily spotted or so that you blend into the background.

HDR photography

1. A manipulation that you need to make to your camera to create a HDR photo you will need to have a camera with a auto exposure bracketing or you'll have to adjust your camera settings

2. Some equipment that you will need to take this kind of photo includes a camera with an AEB function, a tripod, and HDR photo blending software.

3. Someone might take an HDR photo to get the exposer that they want without highlights or dark spots in their photo.

4. I think that the photos will be brighter in color or have color pops within the photo and it might also be clearer in a way and might look less realistic.
